It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the "1st Baltic Sea Conference in Orthognathic Surgery and Orthodontics" to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania September 25-27^th, 2009. The conference will cover the important aspects of orthognathic surgery and orthodontics that will benefit oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, general dentists and sleep specialists.

There have been many achievements in the field of orthognathic surgery during the last decades: modifications in osteotomy design, understanding of the key issues for surgical stability, orthodontic stability and aesthetics. The wide range of topics has turned maxillofacial surgery into a specialty that requires a multidisciplinary approach and thorough understanding of various aspects in treatment planning to achieve superior results. The programme will be oriented to surgical and orthodontic aspects of treatment with special emphasis on function, aesthetics, stability and airway.
